(FSB Magazine) Glendale, Wis. -- ShoreTrips' business is booming, so you'd think owners Julie and Barry Karp could relax a bit. The couple developed a niche - arranging land tours for Caribbean cruise ship travelers. While cruise vessels have been disgorging hordes of passengers into ports and onto buses and walking tours for decades, their operators faced increased competition from landlubbers when the Karps founded their firm in 2001. Since then, the Karps have located tour operators in scores of port cities and used them to deliver less costly and more intimate and original port experiences than the big ships offer. Clients come mostly through travel agents, who get commissions on any ShoreTrips tours they sell. The Karps put 75,000 travelers on their tours in 2006, and 100,000 last year.

Singer-Songwriters Set Sail on Cayamo Cruise
Editor's note: CMT writer-producer Craig Shelburne shares his notes from last week's Cayamo cruise, a Caribbean voyage featuring live performance from several of his favorite singer-songwriters.
Feb. 4: It's the first night of the Cayamo cruise, which collects a whole bunch of cool songwriters that I happen to love. John Hiatt headlined the late show tonight. Man, that guy is so good, even when he just plays solo. He wrote one of my favorite opening lines ever, in "Icy Blue Heart": "She came onto him like a slow-moving cold front." Emmylou Harris, who's singing later in the week, once recorded that song, too. He started with "Drive South," which is (poetically speaking) what we are doing tonight. Plus, since he has a new CD coming in May, he added a few new songs to his set. Tomorrow is a full day at sea.

Somebody hit me with this as an explanation as to the title of Mariah's new CD, E=MC2.
“Just to clarify your Mariah E=MC2 comment it has nothing to do with Eminem. E stands for Emancipation(as in the title of her last album) MC is self explanatory and the 2 or squared simply means part 2. Emancipation of Mariah 2 but doesn't E=MC2 sound alot better."

LMAO! I didn't really think that the E meant Eminem, but it's more interesting that way.
MY CHRISTMAS STORY

Jacob's case worker was visibly shaken when she hung up the receiver. With tears in her eyes she glanced at the Christmas tree, Mrs. Peterson's words resounding in her ear, "Miss Hoback, isn’t it wonderful? Now Jacob will have a little brother or sister!"
