| The Copper Outlook
Now if Copper can trade past 3.80 for 21 days then its virtually a given that it will go on put in a several new highs and should then challenge the 4.20 price point level before pulling back. In this long term 10 year chart we find that the 2.90 price point level also provides a major zone of support; this is a separate confirmation from a very long term chart. Traders can now start to look for stocks that have pulled back in this sector; for those looking for big gains perform trend analysis and focus on the small names. Final note This long term chart is indicating that in the mid term time frames China could experience what amounts to a minor recession. Thus copper could find support say at present level and rally all the way to the 3.80-4.10 ranges but then experience a hard pull back.
Bernanke Signals Further Rate Cuts
As for near-term policy, he said the Fed will need to judge whether the rate cuts to date are having the intended impact, and that the policy stance must be determined in light of the medium-term outlook, where downside risks remain. Commenting on monetary policy, Bernanke said a critical task for the Federal Reserve over the course of this year will be "to assess whether the stance of monetary policy is properly calibrated to foster our mandated objectives of maximum employment and price stability in an environment of downside risks to growth, stressed financial conditions, and inflation pressures." "In particular, the FOMC will need to judge whether the policy actions taken thus far are having their intended effects. Monetary policy works with a lag. Therefore, our policy stance must be determined in light of the medium-term forecast for real activity and inflation as well as the risks to that forecast." Expect a 50-Basis-Point Cut As for other key challenges to the U.S.
ORU alumni support sought
Uncertainty remained Saturday about what effect Richard Roberts' resignation as president will have on Oral Roberts University, but some observers said it was a step toward improvement. "I think people are going to be waiting and watching: OK, can it survive without a Roberts at the helm?" said Donald R. Vance, professor of biblical languages and literature. Vance said he thinks alumni need to support ORU as it undergoes this transition, after being led for 42 years by a Roberts. ORU professors are committed to the school's evangelical Christian mission, but that might not be obvious without a TV minister as president, he said. Christian colleges across the country are led by non-ministers -- "it will just be different for us." ORU leaders have not addressed what role, if any, Roberts will have at the university.
Three years later, Backman still trying to get to the bigs
There is a seafarer's look to the man; one too many days engulfed by the salty air. In the two years following the Diamondbacks debacle, Backman dabbled in this and that -- a fruitless search for fulfillment. Baseball? Who needed baseball? Wally and his brother Mike chartered fishing trips. Wally opened up Prineville's first authentic deli, the New York on Seventh Street Caf, and worked as its chef (the business didn't last). He went on dozens of hunting excursions. Mostly, though, he subconsciously waited. And waited. And waited. In his first season as a manager, with Catskill of the Northern League in 1997, Backman went 3-23. That was an aberration. In the six ensuing years, he suffered one losing campaign. After guiding the Lancaster JetHawks to an 86-54 record in 2004, managing future major leaguers including Conor Jackson, Carlos Quentin and Dan Uggla, he was named The Sporting News' minor league manager of the year.
IL lawmaker seeks ban of gas chambers on strays
SPRINGFIELD, ILL. (AP) -- Gas chambers no longer will be used to euthanize animals in Illinois if a state lawmaker from Chicago gets his way. Democratic state Representative John Fritchey's bill has the backing of about a dozen Illinois animal-rescue shelters that consider using gas to destroy animals cruel. The measure would bar the use of carbon monoxide and tighten restrictions on who is allowed to do the killing. Animal rights advocates and public officials across the region say it's impossible to know how many animals are gassed. That's because county shelters are only required to report the number of deaths, not the manner in which the animal was destroyed. The proposed Illinois ban on gas chambers would apply to commercial breeders and shelters.

Hip-Hop Rumors: We Don't Need No Rumors Today!
I would like to quickly clarify what happened at the Kanye West show in California. Actually, it was a Common show that Kanye popped up on. Last week I said that Kanye dissed the Grammys. Well, it wasn't at the Anaheim show like I said. This apparently occurred at the Hollywood show at the House of Blues. I wasn't there so I didn't hear it or anything. Also, I heard that in a third verse freestyle, Kanye said “I beat 50." Thanks a lot, Peter!! (See the pics down below) EMINEM RUMORS FALSE There was another crappy Eminem rumor coming out that the Detroit rapper was going to be wrestling in the WWE. Shame on you if you believed that one. It was refuted faster than any other rumor in the history of man.

A pickup in international travel and income from add-on services have also helped American, which expects its mainline passenger unit revenue for the quarter to rise by between 3.8% and 4.8%. • Fuel costs: Though they have eased from 2006 highs, jet fuel prices are about 15% higher than a year earlier. However, Morgan Stanley analysts estimate American's fourth-quarter fuel bill could come in about 6% lower due in part to the flight cancellations. .
